CBE issues EGP 11bn treasury bills

Cairo-Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said Thursday that it will issue treasury bills worth EGP 11 billion, on behalf of the Ministry of Finance (MoF).

The issuance will be used to finance the country’s budget deficit, the bank said on its website.

The CBE noted that the first offering will be EGP 5.75 billion for 182 days, while the second offering will be EGP 5.25 billion for 357 days.

The MoF plans to issue treasury bills and treasury bonds worth EGP 299 billion in the third quarter of fiscal 2016-2017.
