Cairo – Mubasher: The Central bank of Egypt (CBE) decided to keep maintain interest rates unchanged, during its latest monetary policy committee meeting.
CBE kept the overnight deposit rate at 14.75% and the overnight lending rate at 15.75%.
On 3 November, the CBE took financial markets by surprise by raising its policy rates by 300 basis points as part of a liberalization of its foreign exchange market.
The CBE has raised its rates, including the benchmark overnight deposit rate, by 550 points this year.
