CBE partners with Alaris to maintain digital transformation

Cairo – Mubasher: Alaris, a Kodak Alaris subsidiary, on Wednesday said that the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has digitised nearly 100 million documents using scanners from Alaris in two years.

The CBE is also looking to scan another 500 million documents over the next five years, according to a statement by the information management solutions vendor.

Digitisation of documents will save huge costs and storage space, Alaris noted, adding that retrieval of digitised documents will be quick and easy.

The central bank will continue the digitisation process through Microfilm Egypt Co. (MFE), an Alaris partner and a leading IT solutions company specialising in document management, archival and business process management solutions, the statement indicated.

“In today’s mobile-first era, paper-based processes are no longer viable, and as a forward-thinking organisation, we needed to digitally transform our information management strategies to improve operational efficiency and ensure profitable growth,” head of business technology development at the CBE Kassem Mohamed said.

The CBE decided to embark on its digital transformation journey two years ago in partnership with Alaris.
