CBE scraps blacklists of loan defaulters

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) decided to cancel its blacklists and remove the ban on dealing with defaulters.

More than 100,000 citizens and over 8,000 companies will be benefit from this decision, according to a statement on Tuesday.

In addition, the CBE also decided to cut the period of notification about previous defaulters to a period from six months to a year from periods up to 10 years. This decision will cover above 4,000 companies and 220,000 individuals.
