Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) issued several instructions to help mitigate the negative impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak on the banking sector.
The instructions include the suspension of charges on points of sale (PoS), ATM withdrawals, and e-wallets for six months, according to a directive sent by the CBE to banks.
In addition, the CBE also directed banks to grant small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) a six-month grace period on loan payments.
