Cairo-Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) said it would auction EGP9.5 billion in treasury bills on Sunday.
The EGP9.5 billion will be offered through two auctions: a 91-day auction at a value of EGP4.5 billion and a 266-day auction at a value of EGP5 billion.
The country's budget deficit widened to EGP177 billion, or 5.9% of GDP within the first half of 2015/16, against EGP132 billion or 6.7% of GDP for the year-ago period.
Earlier, the Ministry of Finance said the total treasury bills and bonds to be issued by Egypt’s central bank during the fourth quarter of 2015/2016 amount to EGP 291.25 billion, up 17% year-over-year from EGP249 billion.
