CBE to issue EGP 11.5bn T-bills today

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) would issue EGP 11.5 billion in treasury bills to fund budget deficit in coordination with the Ministry of Finance (MoF).

The issuance will be carried out through two tranches:  182-day bonds worth EGP 5.5 million and 357-day bonds worth EGP 6 billion.

In the fiscal year 2016/17, the country's budget deficit is estimated to reach EGP 319.46 billion.

  Earlier, the government announced its plant to issue EGP 99.25 billion treasury bonds and bills in September, compared with EGP 99.75 billion for the year-ago period.
