Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) would issue Thursday EGP 11 billion in treasury bills on behalf of the Ministry of Finance to fund the country’s budget deficit.
This amount will be auctions through two tranches: a 182-day auction worth EGP 5.75 billion and a 364-day auction worth 5.25 billion.
During July-October 2016/17, budget deficit declined 3.3% to EGP 107.3 billion, said the Ministry earlier.
The Ministry further announced targeting a EGP 299 billion issuance in treasury bills and bonds over the third quarter of 2016/17.
