Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) plans to issue treasury bills (T-bills) on 2 July at a value of EGP 13 billion, in coordination with Egypt’s Ministry of Finance (MoF), in order to finance the budget deficit.
T-bills with a 182-day maturity period will be issued for EGP 6.25 billion, while 357-day bills will be issued at EGP 6.75 billion, the CBE added.
The MoF plans to issue T-bills and bonds worth EGP 110.75 billion during July 2017, compared to EGP 88.6 billion in July 2016, an increase of 25%.
The total value of treasury bills is estimated at EGP 104.25 billion during July, while bonds are expected to amount to EGP 6.5 billion, the MoF added.
