CBE to issue EGP 2bn T-bonds today

Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) would issue EGP2 billion in treasury bonds in coordination with the Ministry of Finance to fund the country's budget deficit.

The EGP2 billion will be auctioned through two tranches: three-year bonds worth EGP 1.5 billion and seven-year bonds worth 500 million, according to the bank's online data.

The government earlier announced issuing EGP 324.5 billion in treasury bonds and bills in the second quarter of the current fiscal year, higher 15.3% year-on-year.
