Cairo – Mubasher: The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) is set to issue treasury bills worth EGP 9.5 billion on Sunday, in coordination with the Ministry of Finance (MoF).
The issuance is divided onto two tranches; the first 91-day auction is for EGP 4.5 billion, while the second 273-day auction is worth EGP 5 billion.
These regular T-bill issuances aim to finance Egypt's budget deficit.
The MoF previously said that the deficit for the period from July 2015 till January 2016 reached EGP 191.6 billion or around 6.8% of gross domestic product (GDP).
