CBK posts higher profits in Q4; dividends proposed

Mubasher: The Commercial Bank of Kuwait (CBK) achieved a growth of 10.3% in profits of the fourth quarter in 2016 as compared to the same period a year ago.

Earnings increased to KWD 22.91 million ($74.95 million) in Q4-16 from KWD 20.8 million ($67.97 million) in Q4-15, according to a bourse statement issued on Wednesday.

During the fiscal year of 2016, profits totaled KWD 50.4 million which is 9.13% higher from KWD 46.2 million.

The board of CBK recommended a cash dividend of 15% and 10% bonus shares, according to a bourse filing issued on Wednesday.

On the stock level, CBK retreated by 1.22% to close at 405 fils by the end of Wednesday.
