CBUAE’s budget rises 5.5% in December

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) on Tuesday reported a 5.5% month-on-month increase in its budget during December, registering AED 406.37 billion.

The budget surged 11.5% year-on-year in 2017 to AED 406.37 billion versus AED 364.45 billion in the year-ago period, the CBUAE said in a statement.

The increase in the CBUAE’s budget can be attributed to the growth of both cash and banking balances to AED 154.23 billion by the end of last December, in comparison with AED 90.15 billion in 2016.

The bank’s deposits soared 80.35% year-on-year to AED 111.28 billion, the statement showed.

Loans and advances also rose to register AED 3.93 billion at the end of the fourth quarter of 2017 against AED 3.2 billion during the corresponding period the previous year.
