CBUAE's foreign assets decline 2% in December 2020

UAE - Mubasher: The foreign assets of the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) decreased by about 2% to AED 388.1 billion by the end of December 2020, when compared to the same months of 2019.

On a monthly basis, the CBUAE's foreign assets declined by about AED 31.6 billion in December 2020, when compared to November, according to the latest statistics by the central bank.

Meanwhile, the CBUAE registered a 5% year-on-year (YoY) drop in the foreign deposits and an 81% increase in the other foreign assets in December.

The value of the foreign assets held to maturity retreated by 57% YoY in December.

In December, the CBUAE's total assets hit AED 470.5 billion in December 2020.
