CBUAE's foreign assets hit AED 377.2bn in June 2020

UAE - Mubasher: The foreign currency reserve assets of the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) rose by 7% year-on-year (YoY) or AED 26.5 billion to AED 377.2 billion in June 2020, compared to AED 350.7 billion in June 2019.

On a monthly basis, the CBEUAE's foreign assets inched down by 0.7% in June 2020, compared to AED 353.1 billion in May 2020, according to the central bank's latest statistics.

Meanwhile, the banks' deposits abroad decreased to AED 315.87 billion in June 2020 from AED 323.5 billion in the same month of 2019.

The value of the foreign securities held to maturity recorded AED 14.31 billion, down 64% from AED 39.31 billion in the year-ago period.
