CDs reach AED 140bn end-Dec 2015 – UAE Central Bank

Dubai-Mubasher: The UAE Central Bank said that certificate of deposits (CDs) reached AED 139.8 billion in December 2015, a growth of 40.5% or AED 40.3 billion compared to AED 99.5 billion in December 2014, according to a recent data released by the bank.

CDs rose 45.2% or AED 43.5 billion in December 2015, compared to AED 96.8 billion in November 2014.

Gross bank assets, including bankers’ acceptances, increased by 1.2% to AED 2.474.4 billion at the end of December 2015, compared to AED 2.446 billion at the end of November 2015.

Gross credit fell 0.3% from AED 1,490.2 billion at the end of November 2015 to AED 1,485.5 billion at the end of December 2015.
