CIB drives EGX30 lower below 14,000 pts early Tuesday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Tuesday’s session on a mixed note amid foreign buying.

By 10:45 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index fell 0.34% or 48.07 points to the level of 13,952.41 points.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) slipped 0.74% to EGP 81.49.

The EGX70 index inched down 0.04% to 785.37 points, while the EGX100 index rose 0.26% to 1,767.04 points.

The equal-weight EGX50 index shed 0.35% to 2,320 points.

Trading volume reached 52.5 million shares exchange through 4,900 transactions at a turnover of EGP 221.7 million.

Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 28.4 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 26.5 million and EGP 1.9 million, respectively.
