Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Tuesday’s trading session up on the back of Arab buying.
By 10:16 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index gained 0.96%, or 144.43 points, to 15,097.4, bolstered by blue chips led by Commercial International Bank (CIB).
Similarly, the small- and medium-caps EGX70 index edged up 0.18% to 834.02 points, while the broader EGX100 index went up 0.36% to 1,984.21 points.
Likewise, the equal-weighted EGX50 index added 0.63% to 2,600 points.
Meanwhile, trading volume trading volume reached about 10.8 million shares exchanged through 2,030 transactions at a turnover of EGP 62.56 million.
Arab investors were mostly buyers, netting EGP 4.05 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 3.8 million and EGP 182,900 respectively.
The heavyweight CIB rose 1.68% to EGP 79.4 at a turnover of EGP 2.3 million.
