CIB pushes EGX30 down to lowest in month early Sunday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Sunday’s trading session down, pressured by foreign selling.

By 10:26 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index lost 1.03% or 155.15 points to 14,932.73 points.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) fell 1.19% to EGP 77.99 at a turnover of EGP 2.9 million.

The EGX70 index retreated 1.51% to 857.86 points, while the EGX100 index tumbled 1.01% to 2,038 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index plummeted 1.59% to 2,653 points.

Trading volume amounted to about 29.8 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 102.16 million through 3,200 transactions.

Foreign investors were mostly sellers, netting EGP 2.8 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 831,00 and EGP 1.7 million respectively.
