Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Tuesday’s trading session up on the back of non-Arab buying.
By 10:18 am Cairo, the benchmark EGX30 index jumped 221.58 points, or 1.41%, to 15,930.59 points.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (ECIB) rose 2.64% to EGP 80.48 at a turnover of EGP 37.5 million.
The EGX70 index added 0.41% to 878.86 points, while the EGX100 index edged up 0.52% to 2,142 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index grew 0.92% to 2,743 points.
Trading volume amounted to around 46.8 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 187.5 million through 3,070 transactions.
Non-Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 32.26 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 26.58 million and EGP 5.6 million, respectively.
