Cairo Metro denies fire at first line

Cairo – Mubasher: Cairo Metro spokesman on Thursday denied news reporting a fire at one of the trains in the first line’s Zahraa station.

All three lines of the metro are operating at their full capacity, Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported, citing Mohamed Abdel-Hady as saying.

On Wednesday, a fire erupted at Cairo's Ramsis Railway Station after a train crash at the main station, leaving at least 20 people dead and 40 others injured, health minister Hala Zayed said in a television broadcast.

Egyptian transport minister Hisham Arafat resigned on Wednesday, following the fire accident, and the driver of the deadly train accident was arrested.
