Cairo bourse hits one-month high

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange finished Tuesday in the green zone, registering the highest level since 6 September 2016 on foreign investors’ purchasing appetite.

The benchmark index EGX30 gained 65.4 points, or 0.8%, to the mark of 8,198.5 points.

The largest EGX30 constituent CIB rose by 2.2% to EGP 50.6 with a trading value at EGP 69 million.

The small and mid-cap index EGX70 increased by 0.13% to 352.14 points.

The broader index EGX100 and the equal-weighted index EGX50 were higher 0.41% and 4.41%, respectively.

Trading value reached EGP 671.7 million after 158.8 million were traded.

Market capitalization added around EGP 1.1 billion to reach EGP 413.1 billion at close.

Foreign investors were net buyers by EGP 122.3 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers by EGP 99.1 million and EGP 23.1 million, correspondingly.

The top gainers were led by Delta Construction with a 6.36% rise, while Unipack was the worst performer with a 8.64% decline.
