Cairo bourse opens 0.5% lower

Cairo – Mubasher: The benchmark of Cairo bourse opened Wednesday’s session on a slide, while other indices moved upwardly.

The main index EGX30 lost 39.5 points, or 0.53%, to settle at 7,390.8 points in early trade.

Unlike, the small and mid-cap EGX70 rose by 0.22% to 361.6 points. The broader index EGX100 edged up 0.14% to 781.5 points. And the equal-weighted EGX50 went up 0.36% to 1,355 points.

CIB, Egypt's heaviest weight blue-chip stock, went down 0.37% to EGP40.4, recording a trading value of EGP8.2 million.

Trading value reached EGP37.4 million. In addition, the bourse saw 11 stocks move up, 26 move down, and 29 ones stay at previous levels.

Foreign and Arab investors were net buyers by EGP181,200 and EGP714,400, while nationals were net sellers by EGP895.6 million.
