Cairo bourse opens 0.5% lower

Cairo – Mubasher: EGX main gauge initiated Thursday’s trading session lower by 0.5% to 7,447 points, losing 37.6 points at 10:45am Cairo time.

Unlike, the small and mid-cap index EGX70 edged up 0.03% to 366.9 points.

Meanwhile, the broader index EGX100 opened 0.13% down to 788.5 points.

CIB also declined by 1.3% to EGP38 per share, achieving a turnover of EGP17.5 million at 10:46am Cairo time.

Trading value reached EGP153.8 million. In addition, 25 stocks moved up; 34 went down; and 35 stayed unchanged.

The top losers were Suez Cement, Ezz steal, UNB-Egypt, Marsa Marsa Alam for Tourism Development, Beltone with a decline ranging from 1.3% to 1.7%.     

The top gainers were Medical Packaging Company, Citadel Capital, Amer Group, SODIC, and Cairo Development and Investment with a rise ranging from 1.7% to 3.7%.

Arab and foreign investors were net sellers by EGP16 million and EGP370,000 respectively, while nationals were net buyers by EGP16.5 million.
