Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange opened the trading week in the green territory.
By 10:19am Cairo time, the main index EGX30 rose 50.5 points, or 0.67%, to 7,550 points.
The small and mid-cap index EGX70 opened 1.25% higher to the mark of 370.7 points. The broader index EGX100 moved up by 0.83% to 778.3 points.
Most EGX30 stocks saw a rise including Talaat Moustafa, OTMT, Palm Hills by 1.5%, 1.4%, and 1.6% respectively, while the largest constituent, CIB, inched down by 0.02%.
The bourse registered a turnover of EGP 13.7 million by 10:20am Cairo time. Moreover, it saw 22 stocks move up and 21 ones stay at their previous levels.
Nationals and Arab investors were net buyers by EGP 879,900 and 175,000 respectively, while foreign investors were net sellers by 1.05 million.
Earlier, stock market analysts expected EGX indices to initiate the trading week on a positive note, snapping Thursday’s losses after the crash of EgyptAir flight MS804.
