Cairo bourse opens in green zone

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange started the mid-week trading session on a positive note on national buying activity.

The main index EGX30 gained 0.66% to 8,441 points by 10:40am Cairo time.

The small and mid-cap EGX70 rose 0.95% to 348.2 points.

The broader index EGX100 and equal weighted index EGX50 were higher 0.65% and 0.71% respectively.

Nationals were net buyers by EGP 82.6 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers by EGP 75.1 million and EGP 7.5 million, respectively.

Trading value reached EGP 156.5 million after 32 million shares were traded.

Earlier, market analyst Mohamed Mamdouh told Mubasher that the main index is expected to keep moving sideways near 8,500 points, which paves the way, if broken, to the 8,800 zone.
