Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange started Thursday on a stronger note as the benchmark index EGX30 rose 222 points, or 2.2%, to 10,447 points by 10:25am Cairo time.
The small and mid-cap index EGX70 was higher 1.46% to 396 points.
The broader index EGX100 increased 1.54% to 948.7 points and the equal-weighted index EGX50 moved up 2.03% to 1,569.8 points.
Foreigners and Arabs were net buyers by EGP 1.7 million and EGP 3 million, while nationals were net sellers by EGP 4.7 million.
Trading value reached EGP 198 million after 81.7 million shares were traded.
Out of 103 traded stocks, 68 were up, 5 down and 30 stayed at their previous levels.
Earlier, analysts told Mubasher that the bourse is likely to target the 10,300-380 zone on Thursday, where a selling pressures likely start to appear after a gaining streak lasted for tend sessions.
