Cairo bourse opens in green

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange opened Monday on a higher note amid Arab and local buying appetite by 10:35am Cairo time.

The benchmark index EGX30 added 74.2 points, or 0.9%, to reach 8,297 points.

The small and mid-cap index rose 0.32% to 362.8 points.

Likewise, the broader index EGX100 and the equal-weighted index EGX50 was respectively higher by 0.5% to 799.14 points and 0.7% to 1417.2 points.

All blue-chip stocks came in the green zone at open, except Beltone’s that was 0.13% down.

Trading value reached EGP 132 million after 47 million shares were traded in 3600 transactions.

Out of 94 traded stocks, 46 were up, 15 down, and 33 flat.

Arab national and Arab investors were net buyers by EGP 2.4 million and EGP 5.8 million correspondingly, while foreign investors were net sellers by EGP 8.2 million.
