Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) initiated Monday’s trading session on a higher note.
By 11:00am Cairo time, the main index rose 166 points, or 1.28%, to 8457.4 points.
The small and mid-cap index EGX700 was 0.14% higher to 366.3 points.
Likewise, the broader index EGX100 moved up by 0.33% to 811 points and the equal-weighted index EGX50 increased 0.83% to 1441.6 points.
Egyptian investors were net buyers by EGP 11.4 million, while Arab and foreign ones were net sellers by EGP 9.2 million and EGP 2.2 million respectively.
Trading value reached EGP 205.4 million after 95.5 million shares were traded.
The largest EGX30 constituent went up 2.5% to EGP 51.5 by 11:00am Cairo time.
OTMT was the most active stocks in terms of volumes after trading 32.6 million shares at EGP 20 million in 309 deals.
