Cairo bourse rises in early trading

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange opened Sunday’s trading session on a positive note as EGX30 rose 0.64% to 7,573 points at 10:45am Cairo time.

The equal-weighted EGX50 opened 1.12% higher to 1,442 points. The small and mid-cap increased by 0.36% to 368 points. The broader index edged up 0.33% to 794 points.

At 10:50am Cairo time, trading value reached EGP165 million after 101 million shares were traded over 6,000 transactions.

Nationals were net buyers by EGP6.3 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers by EGP2.4 million and EGP3.9 million respectively.

At 11:14am Cairo time, the early top gainers were Giza General Contracting (+5.12%), International Co For Investment & Development (+3.60%), Arab Cotton Ginning (+3.43%), Citadel Capital (+3.11%), and Belton Financial Holding (+3.05%).

Meanwhile, the early top losers were Egyptian International Tourism Projects (-8.70%), National company for maize products (-7.21%), Egyptian Gulf Bank (-2.63%), Rakta Paper Manufacturing (-2.16%), and United Housing & Development (-1.85%).
