Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange started Sunday on a stronger note backed by the free flotation of EGP exchange rate.
The main index EGX30 added 281.3 points, or 3.19%, to reach 9091.85 points.
The small and mid-cap EGX70 rose 3.27% to the mark of 362.2 points.
The broader index EGX100 increased 1.98% to 838.5 points.
The equal-weighted index was higher 0.8% to 1,381.1 points.
Foreign and Arab traders were net buyers by EGP 83.1 million and EGP 1.3 million, while Egyptians were net sellers by EGP 84.4 million.
By category, institutions tended to buy sock by EGP 73.2 million, while individuals were net sellers.
The largest EGX30 constituent EGX30 was placed at EGP 59.2 with a 7.3% rise. The bourse administration suspended trading on the stock after holding above 5%.
EFG-Hermes advanced 2.46% to EGP 16.22 with a turnover of EGP 60 million.
Trading value stood at EGP 218.4 million after 43.8 million shares were traded by 10:39 Cairo local time.
