Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange initiated Monday's trading session on a stronger note.
The main index EGX30 jumped 1.5%, or 104 points, to the mark of 7,080 points by 10:20am Cairo time.
The small and mid-cap index EGX70 rose by 0.18 to 354 points.
Likewise, the broader index EGX100 opened 0.35% higher to 750 points and the equal weighted index moved up by 0.82% to 1,286 points.
The largest EGX30 constituent, CIB, added 1.6% to reach EGP 40.4 per share by 10:20am Cairo time.
Nationals were net buyers by EGP 5.2 million, while Arab and foreign investors were net sellers by EGP 3.2 million and EGP 2 million respectively.
Trading value reached EGP 47 million after 10.5 million shares were traded.
Out of 57 stocks traded, 28 ones went up; 6 saw a slide; and 23 stocks stayed at their previous mark.
Yesterday, Cairo bourse finished on a positive note as the benchmark index rose 0.56%, or 39.2 points, to 6981.72 points.
