Canon eyes larger market share in Egypt

Cairo – Mubasher: Canon Central and North Africa (CCNA) has participated in the 2019 edition of Cairo ICT.

“Canon is committed to driving innovation in the MENA region’s imaging industry, adding value to the Egyptian market and the Egyptian economy. [It is] fully committed to growing [its] share and the overall market size in Egypt,” Eiji Ota, IPS director at CCNA for the DRBG region, said in a statement on Monday.

Cairo ICT, held between 1-4 December, brings together over 500 exhibitors and more than 94,000 attendees, 39% of which are senior-level executives and major stakeholders from regional markets.

Canon aims to “penetrate the IT and CE channels in the country and participate in government tenders for their mid-high range of laser printers through [its] strong network of system integrators and value-added resellers, such as [its] Egyptian partner Silicon21,” Ota noted.

The manufacturer of imaging and optical products also plans to develop the businesses of startups and small-and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the most populous Arab nation with innovative technologies, he revealed.
