UAE – Mubasher: Huawei, a leading multinational technology company based in China, announced that its Developer Day has been kicked off in Dubai, the UAE for the first time in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
The one-day event has been hosted on the sidelines of the GITEX Technology Week 2019 taking place at Dubai World Trade Center from 6 to 10 October, according to a press release.
The day has brought together over 250 app developers and partners in Dubai to explore Huawei’s new eco-construction strategy and its global intelligent distribution platform, Huawei indicated.
During the Developers Day, the Chinese company showcased the Huawei Mobile Services (HMS), the ecosystem based on the core framework of Huawei Mobile Services and Developer Services.
Huawei’s Shining-Star Program unveiled a $1 billion investment to support global developers to keep contributing in HMS ecosystem construction.
The HMS apps, launched in more than 170 countries with nearly 570 million Huawei mobile devices monthly active users, are getting popular all over the world as they meet users’ demand for high-quality and easy artificial intelligence (AI).
Adam Xiao, managing director of MENA Mobile Services at Huawei Consumer Business Group, commented: “We sincerely invite all local partners to join our ecosystem construction, that’s why we had invested $1 billion in Shining-Star Program and building the first DigiX innovation labs in Dubai to fully support them.”
Huawei has also encouraged campus students in the MENA to create better theme job via the HUAWEI Themes during Hala Young Talent MENA, a theme design competition that was announced at Huawei Developer Day.
It is worth noting that Dubai Municipality and Huawei signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop the municipality’s digital capabilities, set up the framework for launching future smart initiatives, and develop innovative solutions to execute the latest technological advances.
