China’s investments in Egypt hit $210m in H1-17

Cairo – Mubasher: Chinese investments in Egypt amounted to $210 million in the first half of 2017, said Han Bing, minister counsellor of the Office of Economic and Commercial Affairs at the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Cairo. 

Bing highlighted that these investments included Jushi Group Corporation’s $170 million investments in the third phase of China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone, according to Alborsa News.

Moreover, the Chinese Dayun Group has set up its motorcycles factory in TEDA Zone with investments worth $30 million, he added.

China’s investments in Egypt included the implementation of New Hope Liuhe Co’s third factory at a value of $10 million. New Hope Liuhe Co is working in fodder production.  

The minister counsellor further noted that the Chinese investments in Egypt climbed by 75% in H1-17.

China Fortune Land Development is forecast to partner with the New Urban Communities Authority to implement $20 billion projects in the New Administrative City in the first quarter of 2018, he indicated.
