Dubai – Mubasher: The civil aviation sector will account for 20% of the UAE’s gross domestic product (GDP) and $53.1 billion of Dubai’s GDP by 2020, said Dubai Airports’ Deputy CEO Jamal Al Hai.
The sector will make up 37.5% or $53.1 billion of Dubai’s GDP and 29.5% of jobs in the emirate by 2020, according to a report released by Oxford Economics.
The civil aviation sector is very important in all countries, but in the UAE it is considered a main pillar of the economy and a unique success story, Al Hai commented.
Who observes the phenomenal development of this sector in the UAE, cannot help but acknowledge the impressive growth in the civil aviation infrastructure, which has received billions of investments, the top official concluded.
