Cleopatra denies reports on Actis’ takeover of major shareholder

Cairo – Mubasher: Cleopatra Hospital Co confirmed that it has not been informed by any changes implemented by its major shareholder Care Healthcare Ltd to its shareholding structure, the board of directors, or top executives.

Cleopatra denied reports that EM private equity fund Actis received regulatory approval to manage Creed Healthcare Holdco, also known as North Africa Hospital Holdings, and its subsidiary Care Healthcare Ltd., which holds a 69.4% stake in Cleopatra Hospital Co., according to a statement to the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) on Tuesday.

During the first quarter of 2019, Cleopatra’s net profits edged down 3.6% to EGP 55.139 million from EGP 57.195 million in the year-ago period.

As for standalone business, Cleopatra Hospital Co logged a net profit of EGP 45.05 million in Q1-19, compared to EGP 41.11 million in Q1-18.
