Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: UAE leading developer Imkan has commenced construction works for its mixed-use waterfront project Makers District.
Situated in Abu Dhabi’s Reem Island, project construction is slated for completion in the fourth quarter of 2020, the company said in a statement, adding that the Dutch sub-contractor had completed the construction of 938 secants of shoring.
“The development validates our priority to enrich the UAE’s residential and commercial landscape through setting a new benchmark for community-living,” Walid El-Hindi, CEO of Imkan, commented.
Spanning 18 hectares, the $540 million waterfront Makers District will feature 480 serviced apartments across seven mixed-use residential towers.
It will also house retail and office spaces alongside 3,500 square metres of food and beverage space and a water feature.
Primary construction works of the Makers District will be tendered in the first quarter of 2019, Imkan highlighted.
