Credit Agricole Egypt logs EGP 2.2bn profit in 2018

Cairo – Mubasher: Credit Agricole – Egypt on Sunday reported a 12.6% year-on-year increase in consolidated profits for 2018.

Net profit amounted to EGP 2.2 billion in the January-December period of 2018, versus EGP 1.95 billion in 2017, the bank said in a filing to the Egyptian Exchange (EGX).

The bank’s revenues from interests grew by 19.1% to EGP 5.6 billion at the end of December, compared to EGP 4.7 billion a year earlier.

As for the standalone business, profits rose to EGP 2.19 billion last year, versus EGP 1.9 billion in 2017.

In November, Credit Agricole posted a 12% year-on-year increase in consolidated profits for the first nine months of 2018.

The EGX-listed bank achieved profits of EGP 1.67 billion in the first nine months of 2018, versus EGP 1.49 billion in the corresponding period of 2017.
