DAE signs agreement with IndiGo to lease Airbus aircraft

UAE - Mubasher: Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) has inked a long-term agreement with IndiGo, India’s largest passenger airline, to lease seven Airbus A321neo aircraft.

Set to be delivered in 2021, the seven aircraft will be powered by the leading-edge aviation propulsion (LEAP) engines of CFM International, a supplier of jet engines for commercial airplanes, according to a press release on Tuesday.

Commenting on the agreement, the CEO of DAE, Firoz Tarapore, said: "This investment reiterates our commitment to investing in new, fuel-efficient aircraft to minimize carbon and nitrogen emissions as well as noise while at the same time increase performance, reliability, and environmental sustainability."

Meanwhile, Tarapore added: "The introduction of these aircraft will allow the airline to expand the range of their exceptional product offering."
