The deal, signed by DEWA CEO Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer and DED director general Sami Al Qamzi, aims to support members of Dubai SME by marketing their offers, services, and products through DEWA Store, a smart app launched by DEWA, the emirate's electricity and water authority said in a statement.

Signing the agreement comes along DEWA’s efforts to strengthen and develop its strategic partnerships with government organisations in Dubai, it said.

The authority will also provide value-added services to facilitate customers’ lives and contribute to transforming Dubai into the smartest and happiest city in the world.

“Through this fruitful collaboration with DED, we seek to further the growth of Dubai's economy and fulfil our corporate social responsibility towards youth SME entrepreneurs by opening new horizons that allow them to promote their offers, services, and products to DEWA’s customers and employees through DEWA Store,” Al Tayer commented.

He added that by the end of December 2018 up to 882,791 accounts were set up on DEWA Store.
