UAE - Mubasher: DEWA Digital has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Abu Dhabi-based Group 42 (G42), an Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cloud computing company, to introduce AI and cloud innovation in the UAE.
Under the agreement, G42 will enable Digital DEWA companies, comprising Moro Hub, InfraX, and DigitalX, to fulfil digital and data transformation initiatives, according to a recent press release.
Hence, Digital DEWA's service portfolio will operate new services around AI and improve innovations in this field.
The new services will be hosted on Moro Hub and G42 cloud infrastructure to ensure data security.
The agreement is in line with the leading role of Digital DEWA, a Dubai 10X enabler, in adopting digital technologies with its four pillars: solar energy, energy storage, AI, and digital services.
Commenting on the agreement, the Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, said: "The partnership with G42 will strengthen Digital DEWA offerings, as they can now extensively collaborate on technological endeavours, to co-create services in the clean energy and IoT, leverage AI-led solutions for government entities and enterprises across different sectors."
Meanwhile, the CEO of G42, Peng Xiao, noted: "Our expertise in the fields of AI, Big Data Analytics and cloud computing, combined with our specialised industrial know-how, allow us to develop progressive and holistic solutions to problems in every sector, empowering businesses to transition to digital environments effortlessly."
