Dubai – Mubasher: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) announced completing the second phase of its 2015 initiative for establishing an additional number of 100 EV Green Charger stations across the emirate of Dubai.
The announcement came on the sidelines of the 20th Water, Energy, Technology, and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2018) in Dubai.
“DEWA, as the electricity provider for Dubai, took the lead in setting up the first EV charging infrastructure to encourage the public to use environmentally-friendly vehicles. Today, we see an increasing number of electric cars on the streets of Dubai after establishing the necessary infrastructure,” Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and CEO of DEWA, said
By completing this phase, the total number of charging stations in Dubai has reached 200 instead of 100 stations, according to Dubai's state-run utility’s statement.
