DEWA inks MoU to build PV plant in Dubai

Dubai – Mubasher: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) to design, construct, and operate a solar photovoltaic (PV) plant.

With an annual capacity of 4,000 megawatts/hour, the new plant will power the Museum of the Future in Dubai, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported on Saturday.

Under the MoU, DEWA will play an advisory role in the provision of solar energy technologies, smart grid integration, energy efficiency, water treatment through renewable technologies, artificial intelligence, machine learning programmes in energy, and water and related areas.

CEO of DEWA Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer commented: “Through this agreement with Dubai Future Foundation, we are keen to strengthen cooperation between various government entities, to elevate Dubai’s position across all fields.”
