Dubai - Mubasher: The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dubai Police Force to deploy Green Chargers, electric vehicle charging stations.
The Green Chargers are expected to serve visitors as well as Dubai Police electric vehicles.
Upon this MoU, the strategic partnership has been built between DEWA and Dubai Police to establish a comprehensive plan that supports Dubai’s futuristic vision as well as promote sustainability by encouraging the public to use environmentally friendly electric vehicles.
Green Chargers will also support the strategic objective to promote sustainable development in Dubai.
Managing director and CEO of DEWA, Al Tayer, said, “The MoU with Dubai Police supports our joint efforts to achieve the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to make Dubai the smartest and happiest city in the world. It also supports the goals of Dubai Plan 2021, to make Dubai a smart and sustainable city.”
He added, “We launched the Green Charger initiative in 2015 to build the infrastructure for electric vehicle charging stations as one of our smart initiatives. Through this MoU, we will provide Green Chargers in all Dubai Police stations. This supports sustainability and encourages people to protect the environment by conserving its natural resources and using environmentally-friendly electric vehicles.”
