Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has revealed that construction works for the fourth phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park has “advanced further.”
This follows the completion of 128 pillars of the park’s solar tower, DEWA said on Saturday, adding that the park’s fourth-phase “is the largest single-site investment project in Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) in the world based on the Independent Power Producer (IPP) model.”
Total investments in the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park amount to AED 50 million ($13.61 million).
According to DEWA, the solar park’s fourth phase will use three technologies to produce 950 MW of clean energy, of which 600MW will be from a parabolic basin complex, 100MW from a solar tower, and the remaining 250 MW will be generated from photovoltaic panels.

It is worth noting that the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park has already achieved many world records as it will boast the world’s tallest solar tower, at 260 metres, and the world’s largest thermal energy storage capacity at 15 hours, allowing round-the-clock energy generation.
In a tour to survey the project’s progress, DEWA CEO and managing director Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer unveiled additional updates, including that upon completion, the park’s total capacity will reach 5,000 megawatts (MW) by 2030.
Al Tayer’s tour included several of DEWA’s top officials including executive vice president of business development and excellent Waleed Salman and vice president of clean energy and diversification Jamal Shaheen Al Hammadi.
