Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) aims at increasing cooperation with Andritz AG.
The managing director and CEO of DEWA, Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, welcomed Wolfgang Leitner, the president and CEO of the Andritz on Tuesday.
Al Tayer stressed DEWA’s commitment to share best international practices and expertise with power and water companies.
He also pointed to the commitment to achieve the objectives of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050 launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to provide 75% of Dubai's power from clean energy by 2050.
DEWA is working to enhance its infrastructure and total production capacity, which currently is 10,927 megawatts (MW) of electricity and 470 million imperial gallons per day (MIGD) of desalinated water.
