UAE – Mubasher: The parking structure of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s (DEWA) sustainable building in Al Quoz has received the parksmart certificate from the US’ Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI).
DEWA’s building is now the first building in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) to receive this certification in the Pioneer category, according to an official statement released on Saturday.
CEO of DEWA Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer commented: “We are committed to the highest standards of sustainability and efficiency in all our projects and initiatives.”
Supervised by the GBCI, Parksmart is the world’s only certification system designed to assess smart and sustainable parking facilities.
“Obtaining the Parksmart Pioneer certification for the Sustainable Building parking affirms our efforts in sustainability, carbon reduction, and environmental protection,” Al Tayer said.
