DFM back to red in mid-session

Dubai-Mubasher: Dubai Financial Market (DFM) resumed its negative performance on Wednesday, weighed by the investment, telecom and real estate sectors.

The general index declined 0.25% or 7.67 points to reach 3,002.97 points by 12:20pm UAE time.

Turnover reached AED 166.23 million after 126.72 million shares were traded through 2,543 transactions.

The insurance sector lost 1.5%, weighed by Dubai Islamic Insurance and Reinsurance Company which slid 6.4% to AED 0.5.

The real estate sector retreated 0.66% as Emaar Properties, and Drake and Scull International went down 0.93% and 2.26%, respectively.

The investment sector decreased 0.65% as Shuaa Capital and Dubai Investments slumped 2.64% and 1.02% in a row.

The telecom sector levelled down 0.60% due to a drop in du by 0.60%.

The transportation sector contracted by 0.57% as Aramex fell 1.9%.

The banks and consumer staples sector added 1.6% and 0.16% respectively, while the services sector remained unchanged.
