Dubai-Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) ended the volatile trading session at a rise on Monday.

The general index rose 0.04% or 1.5 points to reach 3,484.82 points.

Volatility of the UAE markets is normal in the current period amid traders’ anxiety over the US Federal Reserve’s decision regarding interest rates, according to Fady Al-Ghattis, CEO of Think Financial Services.

The bourse’s gains are mainly attributed to the recovery of oil prices and issuance of reports confirming that UAE stocks are still a safe haven for portfolio investors, Al-Ghattis noted.

The transportation sector led gainers after adding 0.66% as Gulf Navigation Holding went up 0.85%.

The real estate sector advanced 0.07% after Deyaar Development and Emaar Properties climbed 0.51% and 0.43% respectively.

The investment sector declined 0.33% as SHUAA Capital and Dubai Investments slid 0.56% and 0.47% respectively.

The UAE markets are likely to continue their fluctuations due to the absence of real catalysts.
